We Worship, Study and Pray! Dickinson maintains a regular schedual of educational opportunities to learn about Christ and holds a number of special worship services annually. The Lenten Season begins with a contemplative time of meditation at the Ash Wednesday Service. Palm Sunday kicks off Holy Week which continues with community services for Maundy Thursday and Good Friday. Holy Week concludes with an always thoughtful and moving Easter Sunday Service. Memorial Day Service is always reflective on our fallen soldiers. Every year we move worship outside for our Outdoor Worship Service under the massive oak trees. We celebrate our children each year during Youth Sunday and Vacation Bible School Sunday. Rally Day brings some of our best local musicians to celebrate the Lord. We celebrate our heritage and founding mothers and fathers every third Sunday of November with Stuart Sunday. We begin to prepare for the arrival of Christ with Advent Sunday Services. The year wraps up with our moving and celebratory Christmas Eve Service.
We Fellowship! Dickinson’s annual calendar is packed with fun and exciting events. Snow tubing trips are scheduled at Ski Roundtop. We often plan hikes as a time where we can enjoy nature together. We also make an annual trip to City Island for a Harrisburg Senators baseball game and picnic. Being good Presbyterians – we love to eat! Every Sunday we follow worship up with a delicious coffee fellowship spread. We also fellowship with food during our Fellowship Dinners, Progressive Supper, Deacon’s Party and many other times throughout the year. Each Easter the kids have a blast with the Easter Sunday Easter Egg Hunt. We wrap up the year with some great Christmas time events such as the annual Christmas Party.
We are apart of the community! Dickinson plays a vital role in the life our local community. Every year we bring in some of the finest bluegrass musicians in the country at our Music at the Manse Concerts. We also celebrate Christmas with our annual Christmas Benefit Concert which brings in awesome brass groups and the Centerville Community Choir. Dickinson also is deeply involved in our local missions such as Project SHARE, Neighbors in Christ and Hospice of Central PA. We have been stewards of the Adopt-a-Highway program for well over a decade.
Dickinson is dedicated to the community!
